Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, Custom Solutions Team

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will assist in the development and innovation of custom HR software solutions for some of the world’s most sophisticated companies. You will use PHP, SQL, jQuery, VanillaJS, and CSS to deploy software quickly to meet their needs. You will work alongside our Customer Success team and thrive on the responsibility to own large projects from conceptualization to deployment in a Functional PHP, Legacy Code environment. 

This is a fully remote, salaried, exempt position.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment
  • Maintain and upgrade the software following deployment
  • Modify and test changes to previously developed applications
  • Deliver high-quality code in a prompt and efficient manner within a cyclical cadence
  • Collaborate with team members utilizing agile methodologies
  • Work within the Windows Server environment on a mostly AWS cloud server hosting platform
  • Develop front-end and back-end software using PHP/SQL, HTML/CSS with Bootstrap, and VanillaJS/jQuery
  • Identify and mitigate end-to-end security concerns
  • Ensure the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability
  • Strive to delight the customer

Who you’ll work with

You will be part of a team within the Custom Solutions Engineering organization and report to your Engineering Manager. You will interface directly with customers and our Customer Success team to gather project requirements and help determine timelines and set expectations around project delivery. You will work directly with Quality Assurance team members to deliver well-tested, quality code and feature sets.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years technical software experience
  • Expertise with PHP, HTML, CSS, and VanillaJS/jQuery
  • Vast experience working with functional PHP in a legacy environment
  • Experience refactoring legacy software while keeping consistency in feature set
  • Proficiency with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL DB technologies
  • Database design and management with awareness of latest practices and associated versions
  • Strong security background and experience working with sensitive data
  • Experience with Docker or similar containerization platform
  • Experience with agile and fast-paced software development methodologies
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience managing customer work and communicating directly with customers
  • Proficiency with Git, Laravel, and VueJS
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors, bundlers, and associated languages, syntaxes, and libraries, such as Sass, Less, and webpack
  • Technical literacy and hands-on experience across the software stack, infrastructure, and DevOps
  • Knowledge of Enterprise HR systems, such as WorkDay, SuccessFactors, Oracle, and SAP
  • Willingness to grow and learn

Pay Transparency

RedCAT is committed to a fair, equitable, and transparent total rewards package including salary, bonus, robust benefits, and generous time off. The salary range for this role is $145K to $160K. Final compensation will be determined by various factors, such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
